It's Free Beer For Life, and it's our way of saying thanks.Īs a Patron Saint, you get a hand crafted, one-of-a-kind custom glass with your name and number on it (basically just one of the most amazing beer glasses on the face of the planet). And every time you walk through our doors, your first drink is on us. We will keep it at the brewery for you, because you are a Patron Saint of Lazarus Brewing. Individually numbered, engraved with your name. We found Treg Silkwood, a world class artist with the skills to bring it to life. The rest is history, or soon will be.Įach glass is crafted by hand, one at a time, just for us, and just for you. That sexy insignia is real gold leaf. We started by going back: to 13th century Europe, where thirsty pilgrims would still share a pint out of two handled "pass cups". We spun that vision forward: imagining a 21st century version to delight the most passionate beer lovers. Both locations are special, and we wanted to commemorate that… Six years later, we opened Laz 2 (Airport Blvd) in November of 2022. We opened Laz 1 (East Sixth) on Christmas Eve, 2016. And we aim to become one of your favorite places in Austin. Laugh about the mishaps (trust us, they’ll make great stories). Want to know more? You can email him or follow him on Instagram. At it's heart, Lazarus is a world class neighborhood brewery that’s here to fuel your adventures. He also enjoys pastoring the small church (All Souls) that meets in his home. Christian still loves creating spaces that allow that to happen. We're big fans of friends going on adventures together - sharing life (over coffee, beer, tacos, and joy!). And this time, we actually own the place!Īt its heart, Lazarus will always be a neighborhood brewery. And that's not counting all the friends we've made along the way. Over the past six years the Lazarus family has grown: to be 70+ employees. We survived COVID without laying anyone off. Since then, we've won some awards: Gold for Amandus (GABF, 2017), then Gold for Black Pearl (GABF & WBC, 2022). Their old friend Marcus signed up to run the taproom.Įventually, against all odds, Lazarus Brewing on East Sixth was born on Christmas Eve, 2016. Christian learned how to write a business plan. They met all sorts of interesting people many were willing to help. Of course it was harder than they expected. (You don't have to be crazy, but it helps!) In 2013, he and his wife Marilyn sold everything and moved to Austin, TX to see if they could start a brewery, and plant a church, both at the same time. Once upon a time, there was a beer-brewing, fly-fishing, Presbyterian pastor from Montana who fell in love with people (the kind who don't normally show up in church). We do coffee, beer, tacos and Joy! And now we have 2 locations to serve you. ![]() "Lazarus is an award winning brewpub founded on Christmas Eve, 2016.
